You'll run the shop day to day, help customers find the right honey and products, keep displays full and beautiful, and keep sales and inventory records accurate. The shop is currently open Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or by appointment.

• Opens and closes the shop, making sure it's clean, stocked, and ready for customers.
• Provides premium customer service, including friendly honey tasting conversations and sharing what makes each product special.
• Completes sales accurately on our Square point of sale system and balances the cash drawer at the end of each day.
• Merchandises and restocks displays so the shop looks full, appealing, and easy to shop.
• Handles appointment visits and pickups, along with local online-order pickups.
• Completes inventory counts and sends reorder flags to production before items run out.
• Keeps the shop and window display clean, organized, and ready for customers at all times.
• Shares customer feedback, popular items, and product requests with Amanda and the team.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Owner or Retail Manager when necessary.

Skills and abilities

• Passion for local farming, beekeeping, handcrafted products and/or the agriculture/specialty food industry.
• Ability to present professionally and positively in a retail and sales role. You are a part of the Edgewood Apiaries Brand.
• Ability to operate safely in the workplace.
• Attention to detail, ability to manage a cash drawer and work a point of sale system (Square).
• An eye for neat, attractive displays and merchandising.
• Enthusiasm, good attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty.
• Ability to work autonomously and distinguish when to delegate or ask for input/help.
• Mindfulness of asset security, store front displays, and employee/customer relations.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, customer service, sales, and/or specialty food positions.
• Accurate and quick mental math
• Highly developed communication skills
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.

• Pay Range: $18-22.50/hr depending upon experience
• Reports to: Retail Manager
• Availability for shop hours and scheduled appointments. Our new Carytown store is planned to be open Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-6pm. Holiday hours may vary.
• Reliability is key: no call outs day-of and timeliness is a MUST. Days off planned in advance.

• Able to bend, kneel, lift, carry, push and pull (for example 30-50lbs) safely and independently.
• Able to stand and maintain attention for the shift.
• Able to restock shelves and move cases of product safely.

• Positive customer feedback about customer experiences.
• Low/no percentage of discrepancy between recorded sales and the cash drawer.
