Fall Table Honey (Not a Recipe Dump)
Share
Fall tables get crowded with lists.
Glazes. Pairings. Twelve ways to use a jar. You already know how to put honey on toast. What you need is the jar that earns a spot next to the board, the coffee, or the host gift you are actually going to carry in to the party.
On our farm in Bremo Bluff, that starts with a named Virginia jar from the honey collection. One jar people will pass around with joy.
One named jar is enough
Open the collection and pick a name you can say out loud.
Raw Forest is unfiltered hardwood and wildflower honey, raw and never pasteurized. Everyday table jar, especially from the Edgewood Estate. $15.75.
Monacan Meadow is the delicately floral spring jar. Red maple, black locust, and clover. $15.75 when it is on the shelf. I had to really twist Mark's arm to sell me more of his honey this year. Super limited in supply due to the drought - HIGH in demand.
Powhatan Springtime is the butter-and-caramel jar from my hometown. $15.75.
South BlueRidge Summer is the sourwood. If someone at the table asked for sourwood, that is the jar. Don't swap it. $12.50.
Other jars show up when the keepers and the calendar allow it. BlueRidge Foothills. Shenandoah Springtime Honey. Whipped Virginia Gold when you want soft-set on the spoon. Trust the collection the week you order.
If the table wants heat
Hot Honey is the other table bottle that is definitely having its moment. Sweet with a little bit of heat. Raw Virginia honey, unprocessed and unfiltered, finished with spice from Virginia-grown habaneros. The page names pizza and fried chicken. We'll leave room for creativity with you. $18.75.
Hot honey isn't a named yard jar. It's still our honey. It's the bottle you put out when the table already has a mild jar and someone wants a kick.
Gift tasting set vs table jar
If you want three small jars and a dipper so someone can taste before they commit, that is the Virginia Honey Flight. Three raw natural Virginia honeys. $50.
If you want the cold-weather tasting box (chocolate, chai, whiskey barrel), that is the Winter Honey Flight. $60. Finished gift. Different job from putting one everyday jar on your own table.
If you want soap, honey, and lip balms in one box, that is Journey with the Bees. $42.50. This post is the table jar.
Pickup in Bremo Bluff, or ship the jar
Put a named jar in the cart on the honey collection, or open Hot Honey if heat is the point. Ship it, or choose farm pickup. If you choose pickup, we email or text to schedule it. Place the order first.
