Fire cider used: Berries, Florals & Honey | Honey used: Lavender Infused Honey

Switchel is an old-fashioned drink of vinegar, ginger, sweetener and water. Our Berries, Florals & Honey fire cider already has the vinegar and ginger, plus hibiscus that turns it a pretty pink. Lavender Infused Honey adds a smooth floral note, and sparkling water makes it fizzy.

Serves 1 (pitcher serves 6) | Prep 5 min

Ingredients

One glass

  • 1 tablespoon Lavender Infused Honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Fire Cider: Berries, Florals & Honey, shaken well
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup chilled sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Lemon wheel, for garnish

Pitcher for 6

  • 1/3 cup Lavender Infused Honey
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon Fire Cider: Berries, Florals & Honey, shaken well
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 1/2 cups chilled sparkling water, added just before serving

Steps

  1. Stir the honey into the warm water until dissolved. Honey seizes up in cold liquid, so do this first.
  2. Stir in the fire cider and lemon juice.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in the base, and top with sparkling water. Stir gently once.
  4. Pitcher: mix the honey, warm water, fire cider and lemon juice ahead and chill. Add the sparkling water and ice right before serving.

Tips and storage

  • The base (without sparkling water) keeps covered in the fridge up to 3 days. Stir before using.
  • For still switchel, use cold water instead of sparkling.
  • Refrigerate fire cider after opening.
