Honey used: Chai Infused Honey

An espresso martini is coffee and vodka shaken hard until it has a creamy foam on top. We sweeten ours with Chai Infused Honey, which stirs right into the hot espresso and adds warm chai spice. It's a good one for after dinner.

Serves 1 | Prep 5 min

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce freshly brewed espresso (or very strong coffee)
  • 2 teaspoons Chai Infused Honey
  • 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur (optional, for a richer drink)
  • Ice
  • 3 coffee beans, and a pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

Glass and garnish

Chilled coupe or martini glass, three coffee beans, a pinch of cinnamon.

Steps

  1. Stir the Chai Infused Honey into the hot espresso until it melts. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  2. Add the sweetened espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur (if using) to a shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake very hard for 15 to 20 seconds. That hard shake is what makes the foam.
  4. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  5. Float three coffee beans on the foam and dust with a little cinnamon if you like.

Tips

  • Fresh espresso gives the best foam. Brew it right before you shake.
  • Without the coffee liqueur, add another teaspoon of chai honey if you want it a little sweeter.
